Skill Development Programme-DODA under AVSAR Scheme

A two month skill development program was organized in collaboration with District Administration Doda which concluded on 31st March, 2024. The program aimed to empower participants with a diverse set of skills spanning across various industries. Through a series of workshops and hands-on sessions, participants were equipped with valuable knowledge and practical experience. 

Program Structure:

The program was divided into eight modules, each focusing on a specific skill set:

Soft Skills: Participants engaged in workshops focused on communication skills, linguistic nuances and interpersonal skills .

Technical Skills: This module provided hands-on training in various tools such as MS-Office, Canva, Google Suit.

Life skills: This vertical of the workshop is intended to equip participants with tools for better stress management,conflict resolution, time management, teamwork, and problem-solving. Along with this, financial skills and personal financial budgeting also formed the major chunk of this module.

Electrical Work: Participants learned about practical training in electrical systems.The course included:-

  • Basic concepts of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • Working of electric circuits.
  • Identify different types of wires and cables.
  • Hands-on skills in basic electrical wiring techniques.
  •  Safety considerations when working with electricity.

Tourism: All the aspects of the hospitality and  tourism industry were discussed during this workshop,  including customer service, front desk, housekeeping, tour planning, and destination management while keeping sustainability at the core of it all.

Agro-business: From the esteemed faculties of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and technology, participants learnt about modern agricultural practices, sustainable farming methods, like hydroponics, vertical farming, biopesticides , Saffron farming and farm to table concept.

The theme of the workshop was ”Indigenous, Innovation and Integration”. Also market analysis, and value chain management in the agricultural sector were discussed to explore entrepreneurship and employment opportunities.

Marketing: This module covered essential marketing principles, digital marketing strategies, market research techniques, and brand management.Students designed marketing campaigns and pitched their ideas.

Film Making and Vlogging: This module introduced participants to the art and craft of filmmaking, starting with storyboarding , screenplay writing, cinematography and editing. Also Participants explored the world of vlogging, learning about content creation, video editing, audience engagement, and monetization strategies.
